We are delighted to share that BCL will be exhibiting at ArabLab 2025, held from 23–25 September 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Join us at Stall H2-C70, where we will proudly present the SARSYS Friction Tester eVito, an advanced all-electric solution for runway and pavement safety.
At this year’s event, we are arriving with a focus on innovations that enhance both safety and sustainability. One of the highlights is the SARSYS eVito, developed in partnership with SARSYS ASFT, a global leader in friction measurement systems.
Runway excursions account for close to 20% of aviation accidents, with surface conditions often cited as a contributing factor. To meet ICAO safety standards, airports perform over 50,000 friction tests annually. Every accurate reading reduces operational risks, and proactive testing has been shown to lower incident rates by up to 25%.
The SARSYS eVito responds to this demand by delivering precise, real-time values in a sustainable way.
The SARSYS eVito friction tester is based on the Mercedes eVito platform and provides a 360 km range per charge, allowing uninterrupted operations across a full working day. Charging from 10 to 80 percent capacity takes around 50 minutes, ensuring minimal downtime. With fewer moving parts and no combustion engine, servicing requirements are significantly reduced.
What operators immediately notice is the silence. Without the noise and vibration of a traditional engine, comfort improves and attention stays where it matters most: on the friction testing readings.
The eVito continues the long-standing skiddometer principle developed in Sweden in the late 1950s. Over decades of refinement, it has remained the benchmark for reliable surface friction measurement. Modern sensors now detect even the smallest deviations, producing reproducible values that align with ASTM, ICAO, and FAA requirements. This is accuracy recognised at an international level.
Compatibility with digital platforms ensures the SARSYS eVito is more than a standalone tool. The MIDAS platform processes collected data in real time and helps teams visualise conditions retrospectively. The SNAp 2.0 application further simplifies reporting by automatically filling out the Global Reporting Format (GRF), cutting manual effort and ensuring compliance.
With more than 12,000 professionals expected to attend this year, ArabLab 2025 is the ideal platform to showcase why electrified transport and surface safety are a natural combination. The SARSYS eVito friction tester offers accuracy, efficiency, and reduced environmental impact, making it a standout in the exhibition.
We are extremely excited to be joining ArabLab 2025 with the SARSYS eVito. This innovative friction tester is proof that accurate surface testing can be sustainable without compromising reliability. From long-range operations to international compliance, it sets a new standard for how friction testing should be carried out today.
