Atlas has been designing and manufacturing material weathering test equipment for more than 100 years, initially starting with carbon–arc lighting technology inside. Since the introduction of the first xenon-arc based weathering instrument – the Xenotest 150 – xenon-arc instruments, also known as Weather-Ometers®, Xenotest® or SUNTEST®, have become indispensable tools for new product development and quality control.

Atlas Ci Series Weather-Ometers, large water-cooled xenon instruments with rotating rack test chambers, are the most powerful, flexible, high-end weathering testing instruments available. Ci Series instruments are recognized by leading material suppliers as well as OEMs of key industries such as transportation, electronics, and building & construction.
The Atlas Xenotest Series, small- and medium-sized air-cooled xenon instruments with rotating rack test chambers, are economical standard weathering testing instruments complying to the most common ISO and other industry weathering standards. Xenotest instruments are widely used in testing textiles, plastics and coatings.
Today, the Atlas SUNTEST Series is based on air-cooled xenon technology with static horizontal exposures. SUNTEST benchtop models have become industry standards in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry. Furthermore, SUNTEST XLS+ and XXL+ come in practical whenever 3-D specimens become too large or difficult to be exposed inside rotating rack instruments.
